Keratin is the protein your hair is already made of. A keratin hair treatment replaces what heat, bleach and sun have stripped out, then seals it into the hair shaft. The result is not poker-straight. It is your own hair, smoother, calmer, and far quicker to dry and style. Over time your natural texture gradually returns. That is exactly how it is designed to work.
Which of the three is yours
Signature Day Keratin is the everyday enrichment treatment, best for fine to medium hair with ordinary frizz. Intense Hair Keratin is the stronger, longer version for thick, coarse, strongly curly or badly damaged hair, and it gives the straightest effect of the three. Formaldehyde-free, and why that matters here
Plenty of cheap keratin services in Bali still rely on formaldehyde to force the cuticle shut. We do not. Our products are formaldehyde-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free and cruelty-free, so there are no harsh fumes during the service and nothing aggressive sitting on your scalp afterwards.
It starts with water
Bali's tap water is hard, and hard water undoes a keratin treatment faster than anything else. Every water source in our salons is filtered: wash stations, showers, taps and beyond. It is the single biggest reason our keratin holds. And before the wash, we brush, a small step often overlooked, but one that helps reduce tangles and minimise breakage.
Timing matters
Planning a surf trip, a diving day, a beach club weekend or a spa retreat? Consider scheduling your keratin afterwards. Keratin works by helping lock moisture and nourishment into the hair, and swimming, steam rooms and saunas can all shorten the life of the treatment. Your future hair will thank you.
Keratin is a habit
Think of keratin like vitamins. One treatment is not meant to last forever. Your hair is exposed to sunshine, salt water, styling and daily life. Over time, consistent keratin treatments can leave hair smoother, fuller, stronger and more manageable. We do not believe in sacrificing tomorrow's hair for today's transformation.

Which keratin treatment should I book?
Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we'll tell you. As a rule: Signature Day Keratin for fine-to-medium hair with everyday frizz, Intense Hair Keratin for thick, coarse, very curly or heavily damaged hair, and Mermaid Gloss Keratin if you're blonde, colored or bleached and fighting brassiness.
Does keratin straighten my hair?
That isn't what it's for. Keratin is about manageability: less frizz, less styling time, less effort every morning. Intense Hair Keratin does give a straighter effect than the others, but none of them are a permanent straightening service.
How long does keratin treatment last?
It fades gradually with washing, swimming and island life rather than growing out in a line. With sulfate-free aftercare most guests get several months, and your natural texture returns progressively, which is how it's designed to work.
How long does the appointment take?
Signature Day Keratin is about three hours, Mermaid Gloss Keratin about three and a half, and Intense Hair Keratin about four, including wash and styling. Hair longer than 60 cm takes a little more product and a little more time. Message ahead rather than walking in; keratin isn't something we can squeeze between appointments.
What does a keratin treatment cost?
It depends on the version and on your hair length, so we quote it on WhatsApp rather than publish a figure that would be wrong for half the people reading it. Message us with a photo and the length and you'll have an exact answer before you commit to a chair.
When can I wash my hair afterwards?
Allow 48 hours before the first wash, then use a sulfate-free hydrating shampoo. Dry your hair thoroughly and use a heat protectant or hair oil when you style.
Is it safe for damaged or bleached hair?
It's designed for it. All three treatments are formaldehyde-free and rebuild fibre as they smooth. If your hair is severely compromised your stylist may recommend a repair treatment first. We'll say so honestly.
Does Bali humidity make a keratin treatment fade faster?
Humidity is what the treatment is fighting, not what wears it out. What shortens it is washing, and above all salt water, chlorine and steam. Sulfate-free shampoo is the single biggest thing you control. Every wash here runs advanced filtered water, which is a large part of why keratin holds better in our chair than in a room using whatever comes out of the tap.
Can I swim, surf or use the pool after a keratin treatment?
Yes, and it will cost you some of the life of it. Give the hair 48 hours before the first wash, then treat salt water, chlorine and saunas as the things that shorten it. If you have a diving day or a beach club weekend coming up, book the treatment for after the trip rather than before it and you get the whole run of it.
